The Traveling Cat

Lyra, digging the outdoors. What you can’t see is her soggy, dirt-balled butt … the aftermath of her sponge bath mentioned in the previous post Traveling with Cat(s).  She doesn’t seem too worried about it here though.

After months of hemming-and-hawing I finally broke down and replaced my stolen Canon PowerShot G9 with the awesome G11. I’d take a picture of it for you but I don’t want to pull out my outdated Olympus D-SLR to do it. But you can view stellar product images, a complete spec sheet, and thorough reviews at Canon Digital Photography Review (since Canon’s US link appears broken). Of course, I have my own favorite features packed in the ultra-versatile G11, like the fact that it’s small, has tons of manual options (rare for a compact), can shoot in RAW format (the G10 may have been the first compact capable) and JPEG at the same time, the three-inch LCD screen extends and swivels, it has macro capabilities, and … it can do this! (No Photoshop here, just shrunk the file to a Web-friendly size.)

Deep down I think I bought the G11 to capture the hair pattern on my kitty’s nose. Sick, I know.
